Madonna Miffed At MIA of the Day: Madonna is finally opening up about the now-infamous MIA bird-flipping incident that took place during her Super Bowl halftime show.
Speaking on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning, Her Madgesty said she didn’t even know about the digital malfunction until after the show.
“I found out about it in the elevator to get to the car and get to the airport,” she told the American Idol host. “I wasn’t happy about it. I know it’s kind of punk-rock and everything, but to me, there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity, and it just seemed negative.”
She later added that she thought it was “kind of a teenager irrelevant thing to do.”
After hanging up with Seacrest, Madonna phoned Carson Daly and spoke with him about the middle-finger fiasco as well, revealing that M.I.A. has since apologized.
It was reported earlier that, should the FCC fine NBC and the NFL for M.I.A.’s behavior, the singer would be required to pay for it out of pocket.
